Salish Soils is an Indigenous-led, BC-based company that transforms organic waste into high-quality soil products.

INVESTMENT

We have made a direct company investment into Salish Soils, the first for Realize Fund I. The investment was co-led with Raven Indigenous Capital Partners, an existing fund manager partner and investee of Realize Fund I. The investment supports the company's service expansion.

IMPACT

Organic waste is too often sent to landfill, where it generates emissions and contributes to broader environmental harm, while soils and local food systems face growing pressure from depletion and climate change. At the same time, many Indigenous Peoples face stark choices between economic development or the preservation of their lands. By diverting organic waste from landfill and transforming it into compost and soil products, Salish Soils is contributing to emissions reduction, improved soil health, and a more circular economy. Through its operations Salish Soils is providing sustainable livelihoods on the Sunshine Coast that demonstrate success for their community and nature.
