Historically, on-reserve housing for Indigenous communities has been financed by First Nations governments themselves and Federal funding programs. This funding has not kept up with need and there is a current large need for capital to build, renovate and install homes on reserves. By providing short-term financing for nonprofit affordable housing projects driven by and for Indigenous communities, Keewaywin Capital Fund I is accelerating the construction of homes, improving lives and strengthening community resilience.
